Senior Farewell: Joe Goss
We all take different paths to get to our chosen destination. This is true in all aspects of life. And it is especially true as we choose our college, our major, and eventually what career we choose to pursue.
The reason I chose to pursue journalism is because it gives me a chance to share the story of these paths. Whether a story is about an individual person, a group, or even the passage of a new government bill, all of these stories follow a path. I enjoy being able to explain and, I hope, tell these stories in an accessible and entertaining way. Now as we approach graduation and the culmination of four years of hard work, I want to share a little of the path I have traveled.
My path is far from traditional. I am a single father of a 6-year-old son and a 4-year-old daughter. My first two years of college were spent at Luzerne County Community College. The last two years I have been here at King’s, and I have enjoyed every step of the journey. The last year spent as News Editor here at The Crown has been especially rewarding. I was able to cover stories like the campus police proposal, the Ramada renovation, and others which will impact the student body. King’s College and The Crown have given me the freedom to pursue the things that interest me and the experience and instruction I have gained here will be the driving factor in my pursuit of the path that comes next.
